Children's Privacy Policy

    Last Updated: March 24, 2026

Sports Verified LLC ("we," "us") operates Hoop Verified, a youth basketball platform. We are committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") and protecting the privacy of minors who use our Platform. This Children's Privacy Policy supplements our general Privacy Policy.

    1. Age Requirements

    • Under 13: Children under 13 may NOT create accounts on the Platform. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
    • Ages 13–17: Minors may create accounts only with verifiable parental consent. A parent or legal guardian must create a linked Parent Account and approve the minor's profile.

    2. Pre-Created Athlete Profiles (Rankings)

Hoop Verified maintains ranking profiles for athletes that are built from publicly available sources such as high school and club team rosters, tournament results, and other public athletic records. These profiles contain a limited set of information (name, graduation year, school, city/state, and publicly reported athletic data) and exist so athletes can be ranked, compared, and later claim their own profile.

    • Under 13: Pre-created profiles that we know belong to an athlete under 13 are not shown in public search results and are not indexed by search engines. They can only be claimed by a parent or legal guardian, who must provide verifiable parental consent before we associate any additional information with the profile.
    • Ages 13–17: A minor athlete may begin the claim process, but the claim must be completed and managed by a parent or legal guardian account.
    • Adults (18+): May claim their own profile directly.
    • Parent review and deletion: If you are the parent or legal guardian of a child whose pre-created profile appears on the Platform and you do not wish it to exist, you may request review, correction, or deletion at any time by contacting us or using the child data deletion request tool. We will honor verified requests without requiring you to claim the profile first.

    3. Information We Collect from Minors

With parental consent, we may collect the following from minor users (ages 13–17):

    • Name: First and last name (last name visibility controlled by parent)
    • Date of Birth: Used solely for age verification — never publicly displayed. Only graduation class year is shown publicly.
    • Email Address: Used for account authentication — never displayed publicly
    • Location: City and state only — full address is never collected or displayed
    • Athletic Information: Position, height, weight, stats, highlights (visibility controlled by parent)
    • Photos and Videos: Uploaded by parent or minor (with parental consent), visibility controlled by parent
    • Academic Records: Report cards submitted for Hoop Verified verification only — stored securely and deleted after verification

    4. How We Use Children's Information

We collect only the minimum information necessary for platform functionality and do not require children to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in the Platform's services.

Information collected from minors is used only to:

    • Provide Platform services (profile, rankings, connections)
    • Verify age and eligibility
    • Process Hoop Verified academic verification
    • Communicate with the minor and their parent about account activity
    • Ensure safety and security of the Platform

We do not use children's information for advertising, marketing, or behavioral profiling.

    5. What Is Publicly Displayed

Only the following may be publicly visible (subject to parental consent and privacy settings):

    • First name (last name controlled by parent toggle)
    • Graduation class year (NOT date of birth or exact age)
    • City and state
    • Athletic position and statistics
    • Hoop Verified status
    • Photos and videos (if parent has enabled visibility)

    Never publicly displayed:

    • Date of birth or exact age
    • Email address
    • Full street address or school address
    • Report cards or academic records
    • Parent/guardian contact information

    6. Parental Controls

Parents have full control over their child's account through the Parent Dashboard:

    • Profile visibility: Approve or restrict who can see the minor's profile
    • Privacy toggles: Control visibility of last name, location, stats, videos, and posts
    • Content review: Review all content on the minor's profile
    • Purchase controls: Monitor and manage purchases and virtual currency

    7. Parental Rights

As a parent or legal guardian, you have the right to:

    • Review all personal information collected from your child
    • Edit your child's profile information and privacy settings
    • Delete your child's account and all associated data
    • Revoke consent at any time, which will restrict the child's profile to private
    • Request a copy of all data collected about your child

    To exercise these rights:

    • Log into your Parent Dashboard
    • Email us at support@sportsverified.com
    • Write to us at Sports Verified LLC, 4659 Wright Rd, Stafford, TX 77477

    8. Data Deletion

When a parent requests deletion of their child's account, or when an account is closed:

    • All personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days
    • Uploaded documents (report cards, verification materials) are deleted immediately
    • Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics but cannot be linked to the child

    9. Consent Audit Trail

We maintain detailed records of all consent-related actions for COPPA compliance:

    • When consent was given, modified, or revoked
    • Which specific permissions were granted
    • Privacy setting changes (with old and new values)
    • Timestamps and device information for each consent action

Parents may request a copy of their child's consent audit trail at any time.

    10. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share children's personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. Information may be shared only with:

    • Service providers necessary to operate the Platform (under strict data protection agreements)
    • Law enforcement when required by law

    11. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect children's data, including encryption, access controls, and regular security audits. Sensitive documents are stored in private, encrypted storage and are accessible only to authorized personnel.
